Information from Library and Archives Canada state that he was a Quartermaster with 1 Canadian Infantry Drivision Signals, Royal Corps of Signals,and that he was "awarded the M.B.E. for continual and efficient service with his unit since the operations on Sicily began". He retired due to ill health, with the rank of Captain, in 1951.
