Obituary

Edward Vincent (Vic) Cavanagh. December 10, 1915 - October 31, 2009

"He lives on in our hearts and memories."

Edward Vincent (Vic) Cavanagh, WO2 Ret'd. Passed away Saturday, October 31, 2009, in his ninety-fourth year, surrounded with love by his family. Beloved husband of sixty-four years of Evelyn (Norma) Cavanagh (nee Malone). He is forever missed by his son Ken Cavanagh and daughters and sons-in-law Kathy Roach (the late Clay Roach), Sue Cavanagh-Williams (Peter), Shirley Phillips (Jack) and Maureen Cavanagh (Mark Pullen). The proud grandfather of Amy, Meghan, Brendan and Daryl; and the great- grandfather of Tyler. He will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law Gloria Durand (Joe) and Anita Taylor (the late Bill Taylor) and many nieces and nephews including Calvin Cavanagh (Irene) and Marlene Glazier (Gerry) and his dear friends. 

Born in Hardisty, Alberta, Vic served with Royal Canadian Signals in World War II, and after the war served with the  RCCS/NWT&Y Radio System from 1939-1946. Retired from Air Canada (Telecommunications) in Montreal in 1981 with thirty-three years of service. He was a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion and past President of West Island Senior Enterprises (WISE).
